Studio Guidelines
LOCATION: We are located in Lakeland, Georgia just north of Lake Irma at 76 N Temple St.
ENTRANCE: I have one entrance closest to the studio. It is my front door. I will open the door 5 minutes
before the scheduled event time.
PARKING: Please use the grass side of the street opposite of the front of our house for permanent parking,
driveway for drop-offs/pick-ups only.
WAITING: Because the art studio is in our home, there is no place inside for parents to stay, but may park
across the street during class. Please be respectful of the neighbors when parking and dropping your child
off. You are welcome to park and bring your child to class the first day to see the studio, meet your teacher
and to feel comfortable with them being in our home. After the first day please plan on just dropping them
off. Limited Space is available for students, parents are encouraged to enjoy spending time at Lake Irma or
visiting nearby shops!
FEES: Camp fees are due at the time of registration. They are non-refundable but may be transferred to
another camp or student. Because of the outside prep time & supplies that are already purchased if you
cancel or don’t show there is no refund of the camp fees. No credits or refunds for missed classes. There
are no catch-up classes for camps, as each week is not the same theme. If given at least 2 weeks notice we
might be able to switch your child to another camp that is not full yet. If your child misses a day, he may not
finish all of his/her projects. We encourage you to take them home and finish them.
MISSING CLASS / BEING LATE: Being on time is important as we have LOTS to do each class! Late arrivals
are very distracting for the group and delay class, which can lead to unfinished projects and prevent the
class from finishing on time. If you know you’ll be late please advise the studio ASAP. We greatly appreciate
if you send a text or email ahead of time if your child will not be attending a scheduled class or will be late.
BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES: We aim to maintain a respectful, patient, and creative learning environment. Please note that
because our studio is in our home any disrespectful and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. We will not put up
with damaging any personal property, or harmful behavior towards other students or family members. In the event of
misconduct, parents will be called to pick up their child immediately. There will be no refunds or credits for the missed
time if a parent needs to be called if a child is not able to continue with the class either partially or permanently due to
bullying, or disruptive, violent, inappropriate or disrespectful behavior.
EXPECTATIONS: We want every child to feel successful and proud of their artwork. We will do our best to
help them learn new skills and create something they are excited about. Please understand that all children
have different skills, and finished projects will vary depending on the student, the effort they put into the
project, and their ability to slow down, focus, and have good craftsmanship. These are skills that take time to
build, and we are excited to help your child work on developing these artistic and life skills.
CANCELLED / RESCHEDULED CLASSES: Due to an unforeseen circumstance, ex. illness, an instructor may
need to reschedule a specific event, class, workshop and/or camp. If the whole camp is cancelled on our
behalf we will issue a full refund.
FOOD | ALLERGIES: Please bring a snack and drink for your student. If your child has an allergy, please list it
on the waiver form. We will do our best to make sure they avoid products or foods that will cause harm.
ILLNESS: If your child is not feeling well or has any symptoms of sickness, please keep them home. We can
discuss an alternative class if necessary.
CLOTHING: Because your child will be using paint, glue, and other stainable art materials, it is your
responsibility to make sure they are dressed in clothing that you are ok with getting stained or ruined. We
do our best to cover their clothes with aprons, insure that they know how to properly use art equipment
such as scissors, glue guns etc., but we are not responsible for damaged clothing.
RESTROOMS: Because the studio is in our home, we have one guest toilet the students can use, and will be
given a break for all. Students will not have free roam throughout the house for safety reasons.
WAIVER: Please print and sign the Release and Liability Waiver and bring it on the first day of class/camp. Ifyou do not have a way to print it off, I will provide a copy for you.
